In the fast-paced world we live in today, time seems to keep slipping away from our fingers, relationships keep turning sour, and we never have enough money to satisfy our needs.
In short, we are missing Barakah in our lives.
“Barakah” is an Arabic word, which means the “abundance of goodness” and its consistency in life.
While it doesn’t seem possible at times to do any better, “belief” is always the key one needs to regain this essential life component and put Barakah back where it belongs.
Here’s how we can increase Barakah in 11 simple ways:
1- Only Rely On the Almighty Allah
First of all, when we think of Allah (SWT) as our only keeper and guide, and put our complete faith in Him, He keeps that trust intact, never burdening us with more than we could bear.
2- Earn Through Halal Ways
Of course, when one earns in Halal ways and steer clear of acts that bring in money using prohibited methods, Allah (SWT) blesses them with Barakah in this life and the Hereafter.
3- Be Sincere In Public Dealings
Similarly, keeping oneself honest when handling business transactions with others is also an act deeply loved by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala.
4- Avoid Overspending
Allah (SWT) doesn’t bring Barakah in life for those who overspend and keep their sights on materialistic things. However, it’s never too late to repent and ask Him for forgiveness.
Indeed, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala never turns His back on those who turn back to Him asking for forgiveness.
5- Give Charity and Feed the Poor
Remembering and helping the poor in times of need is also an effective way to regain Barakah in life. Consequently, what we give others in charity, Allah (SWT) brings that, and even more, back to us in different, unknowing ways.
6- Be Grateful For What You Have
One of the qualities of successful Muslims is that they have endless gratitude for everything they have in life. When they strip their soul clean of pride and ego, Allah (SWT) gives them more than they can even imagine.
7- Seek Allah (SWT)’s Forgiveness Regularly
Not to mention, when someone asks for His forgiveness at all turns of life and makes a genuine effort to act according to His guidance, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala never disappoints them in this life and the Hereafter.
8- Reflect Upon the Verses of the Qur’an
Another way of bringing Barakah in life is to recite the Holy Qur’an daily with meaning, even if it’s just a couple of verses one reads every day.
9- Have Meals Together With Family
One of the most neglected acts that increase Barakah in life is having meals together with family. When one sits with their family and shares food in one space, it pleases Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, and He rewards His beings with countless blessings in return.
10- Say “Bismillah” Before Starting Anything
Furthermore, calling Allah (SWT)’s name and saying “Bismillah” before beginning any chore is one of the best ways to ensure we have His presence by our side while performing any task.
11- Wake Up Early In the Morning
Lastly, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala loves those who wake up early in the morning, pray Salat-al-Fajr, and start their day without procrastination.
That’s why when we begin our day early, the Almighty One adds Barakah in our time, and we find ourselves with enough time on our hands to perform all tasks without resistance.
May Allah (SWT) bring Barakah into our lives and give us the opportunity to reap countless blessings in this life and the One that’s inevitably to come. Ameen.
